Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews responded Wednesday evening to a reported fire at a multi level residential building in Clarksburg.
MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer shared at 7:33pm that crews responded to a fire showing from a third floor balcony at a four level condo or apartment building in the 13700 block of Little Seneca Parkway near Cabin Branch Avenue. Numerous fire and EMS units were dispatched and arrived on scene to investigate and begin suppression efforts.
In a 7:45pm update, Piringer said officials reported that the fire involved contents on a third floor balcony. Crews were able to quickly contain the fire to the balcony area, preventing it from extending into the interior of the building. The fire was brought under control shortly after units arrived.
Additional fire and EMS units assisted on scene as crews checked for extension and ensured the safety of residents. No further spread of fire was reported. There has been no immediate word on injuries or the cause of the fire.
