Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda has announced the cancellation of the Birdland Caravan rally featuring the Baltimore Orioles that was planned for Saturday, January 24, inside the mall near Nordstrom.
The rally was expected to include player appearances, on stage Q and A sessions, mascot photo opportunities, and family friendly activities as part of the Orioles’ annual Birdland Caravan offseason outreach series.
According to Westfield Montgomery, the decision to cancel was made due to forecasted winter weather across the region and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of fans, players, and staff. Mall officials said the cancellation was coordinated with meteorologists and considered the Governor’s State of Preparedness Order, along with concerns about the safe travel of players arriving from locations nationwide that are also expected to be impacted by the winter storm.
No information has been released on whether the event will be rescheduled.
