Montgomery County Public Schools announced that all MCPS-sponsored activities may continue today but are expected to conclude by 9 pm due to anticipated winter weather. All MCPS-sponsored activities and community use of school facilities are canceled for Sunday, January 25, as significant snowfall is expected to create hazardous travel conditions.
The school system reported that crews are pre-treating parking lots, sidewalks, and school entrances, while building staff inspect facilities and prepare for potential heating and plumbing repairs amid frigid temperatures.
MCPS reminded the public that all personal vehicles must be removed from school property to allow snow and ice removal, with vehicles left after 2 pm subject to towing. An update on operational status for Monday, January 26, will be announced Sunday at 4 pm.
