All Giant Food grocery stores across the region will temporarily close Sunday evening as severe winter weather continues to impact travel and safety conditions.
In a message to customers, Giant Food announced that all stores will close at 6pm due to extreme weather. The company cited concern for the safety of both store associates and customers as the reason for the early closures. Stores are currently expected to reopen at 6am on Monday, January 26, provided conditions allow.
The decision comes as snow, sleet, and icy conditions have made roads increasingly hazardous, prompting many businesses and agencies to adjust operations. By closing early, Giant aims to reduce the risk associated with employees traveling during worsening weather and customers attempting to reach stores as conditions deteriorate.
Giant thanked customers for their understanding as the storm continues to affect the region and noted that reopening plans will proceed once conditions improve and it is safe to do so.
