Marissa Mitchell to Host New Weekday Lifestyle Show on FOX 5 DC

FOX 5 DC is launching a new weekday lifestyle program hosted by longtime anchor Marissa Mitchell.

“The Marissa Mitchell Show” will debut on Monday, February 2, airing weekdays at 11 a.m. on FOX 5 DC, with episodes also available to stream on FOX Local. The hour-long show is designed to inform, inspire, and entertain viewers across the DMV through a wide range of lifestyle focused conversations.

The program will cover topics including relationships, finances, parenting, wellness, fitness, food, fashion, and pop culture, while also featuring candid discussions with newsmakers and community leaders about real issues impacting local communities. Viewers will be encouraged to engage through social media interaction, polls, and other participatory segments.

FOX 5 Vice President of News and Content Kyle Carmean said the show will center on connection and community, highlighting Mitchell’s ability to make audiences feel supported and seen in a more personal format.

The show will also incorporate Mitchell’s popular “Motivation with Marissa” franchise, spotlighting individuals who have overcome significant challenges, along with showcasing her community involvement and appearances throughout the region. Executive Producer Jeff Gygax will oversee editorial content.

Mitchell joined FOX 5 DC in 2020 and has served as an anchor and reporter on “Good Day DC” and “LION Lunch Hour.” She is a multiple regional Emmy Award winner and previously worked at FOX-owned station WAGA in Atlanta, as well as WBMA-TV in Birmingham, Alabama, and WTVC-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Journalism from Emory University and a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Mitchell said the show represents a personal milestone and an opportunity to further connect with the DMV audience, with a focus on delivering encouragement, humor, and an hour of content designed to make viewers feel good about themselves.
