With cleanup efforts still underway from recent winter weather, the National Weather Service is flagging a potential curveball for parts of Maryland and Northern Virginia. Forecasters say there is a 20-30 percent chance for light snow Wednesday afternoon into the evening, which could coincide with the evening commute.
According to the National Weather Service, a narrow band of snow may move from northwest to southeast across the region later today. If the snow materializes, a coating to around a half inch is possible, mainly during the PM commute window.
While impacts are expected to be minor, even light snowfall could cause slick spots on untreated roads given cold ground temperatures.
