Maryland’s In-N-Out? Burger Goes Viral Across The State

If you think you’ve had a great burger, wait until you meet this one. 7th Street Burger started as a smash-burger sensation in New York’s East Village, earned waves of praise and social-media buzz for its crispy, juicy patties and simple, craveable formula. That hype was brought to the DMV with its DC locations and now it’s here in Maryland with some calling it Maryland’s version of In-N-Out because of its fries.

Their success has slowly expanded into Baltimore (2400 Boston Street). On a recent trip out to Baltimore, Mr. 8 That visited the newest 7th Street Burger location in the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore. Mr. 8 That rates every restaurant using two simple categories: price and taste, each scored on a scale of 1-5. Add the two scores together, and if a restaurant reaches a total of 8 or higher, it officially “8 that.”

7th Street Burger sells only two items; Burgers and Fries. But this isn’t just another burger outpost, it’s one of the only places outside New York City and Washington, D.C., where fans can finally dig into the viral smash burgers they’ve been hearing about online.
Mr. 8 That: “The fries reminded me of ‘animal-style’ fries that one would get at In-N-Out. However, I loved the kick of the raw jalapeno to help cut the fattiness from the american cheese and their decadent house sauce which was sweet & tangy. Their double cheeseburger not only had similar fixings, but has a nice beef lattice on the outside of the patty. The bun had also been toasted on the top for some additional flavor. Everyone has their own favorite when it comes to burgers, but this should be near the top of everyone’s list.”
During his visit, Mr. 8 That tried the loaded spicy beef fries and a regular double cheeseburger. He gave the flavor a 4.5 and the price a 4.4 leading to a total score of 8.9, meaning 7th Street Burger definitely 8 that!
With the success of both the D.C. and now Baltimore location, hopefully 7th street will eventually make headway into the MoCo area in the future.
