A Cold Weather Advisory is now in effect for Montgomery County from 10pm Sunday through 8am Monday, according to the National Weather Service, as an arctic air mass continues to impact the region.
Forecasters say wind chill values could drop as low as 4 degrees below zero during the overnight hours. These conditions pose a risk of frostbite and hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Residents are advised to limit time outdoors, dress in warm layers including hats and gloves, and use caution when traveling. Pets should be kept indoors when possible, and outdoor animals should have access to warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Officials also recommend checking on older adults and neighbors and using portable heaters safely, noting that generators and grills should never be used indoors.
