Sweeteria to Hold Grand Opening Event

Sweeteria, the Thai-inspired dessert café, is celebrating the grand opening of its new Bethesda location with an event on Thursday, February 5. The café is located at 7525 Old Georgetown Road, in the space previously occupied by St. Arnold’s Mussel Bar, Tyber Bierhaus, and Thimian Thai.

The grand opening event will run from 7:30am to 9:00pm, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 9:09 am. To mark the occasion, Sweeteria will offer several opening-day specials, including buy-one-get-one-free on all drinks.

Sweeteria is owned and operated by Ditlada Wichaidit and Soranan Karikarn, the husband-and-wife team behind Kao Thai Restaurant on Colesville Road in Silver Spring. The original Sweeteria location opened next door to Kao Thai in October 2020. The café is a family-owned concept inspired by Thailand’s colorful dessert culture, featuring a menu of pastries, savory toasts, creative desserts, teas, coffees, and specialty drinks. Bethesda Magazine previously reported on the upcoming Bethesda opening.
