The City of Takoma Park announced changes to the Junction Parking Lot that will take effect February 17, 2026. Beginning that day, the lot will operate as a metered parking facility daily from 6:00am to 11:00pm. Overnight parking will no longer be permitted.
The west end of the lot will be designated as a loading zone only between 6:00am and 11:00am. Parking will not be allowed in that section during those hours. Metered parking will be available in the area from 11:00am to 11:00pm.
All metered spaces in the lot will have a two-hour maximum time limit. Two parking spaces located at the back of the lot will be reserved and clearly marked with signage. Drivers are encouraged to read posted signs carefully to avoid parking in restricted areas.
Payment for parking will be available through the ParkMobile app or at an on-site kiosk, consistent with other metered parking areas in the city. City officials say the changes are intended to improve access and traffic flow while supporting local businesses, particularly during peak morning hours.
