Panic Alarm Leads Deputies to Armed Robbery at PNC Bank

An armed robbery was reported at a PNC Bank in Urbana (Frederick County)

early Tuesday afternoon, prompting an increased law enforcement presence in the area.

According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 12:37 p.m. to the PNC Bank located at 8920 Fingerboard Road after a panic alarm was activated. When deputies arrived, they determined that an armed robbery had just occurred inside the bank.

Investigators say the suspect entered the bank, implied he was armed with a handgun, and demanded cash before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The suspect has not been located.

Deputies remain in the area as the investigation continues, and residents may notice a heightened law enforcement presence throughout Urbana.
