The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded Wednesday evening to a report of shoplifting at a clothing store in the Milestone Shopping Center in Germantown.
According to MCPD, 5th District Central Business Team officers attempted to contact the suspect, who fled deeper into the store before being apprehended.
Police said officers recovered stolen merchandise and also found a .300 blackout AR-style pistol concealed beneath the suspect’s jacket and secured to his back. The adult male was charged with weapons offenses, theft, and disorderly conduct. Officials noted that the arrest was made in coordination with loss prevention staff and emphasized that retail theft incidents can pose serious public safety concerns when weapons are involved.
