Burger King Is Back in Burtonsville After Major Renovation

Burger King has reopened in Burtonsville following a months-long closure, unveiling a completely renovated building at 15703 Columbia Pike. The restaurant, the only remaining business from the previous version of Burtonsville Crossing, now features a modernized exterior, updated interior, and two drive-through lanes designed to improve traffic flow and service speed.

According to restaurant manager Shayla, the team is officially back and ready to go after months of construction and preparation. The reopening brings familiar faces back to a location that has been part of the Burtonsville landscape for years, now paired with a refreshed look and upgraded functionality.

The reopening marks a symbolic milestone for the shopping center, which just a few years ago sat largely dormant as an empty parking lot. Today, Burtonsville Crossing stands as one of the most dramatic commercial transformations in Montgomery County, evolving into a busy retail and dining destination fueled by steady redevelopment and new openings.

The turnaround gained momentum in early 2024 with the arrival of Sprouts Market, the first of its kind in Montgomery County, followed by a rapid wave of additions across multiple categories. Fitness, dining, retail, and service businesses have steadily filled the center, turning it into a daily destination for nearby neighborhoods and commuters along Columbia Pike.

Burger King’s return completes a full-circle moment for Burtonsville Crossing. Once the lone holdover from the site’s former incarnation, the restaurant now reopens as part of a fully reimagined center, matching the updated look and energy of its surroundings. With additional openings still ahead, the revitalized shopping center continues to build momentum as one of the county’s most notable redevelopment success stories.
