Police Step Up Patrols After Synagogue Vandalized

The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating an incident of vandalism involving antisemitic graffiti at Shaare Tefila Synagogue in Olney.

According to MCPD, officers from the department’s 4th District responded to the synagogue around 8:00 am on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after receiving reports that antisemitic phrases and symbols had been spray-painted on multiple signs at the front of the property overnight.

Police said they are canvassing the surrounding area and reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify those responsible. MCPD has increased patrols in the area to enhance community safety and security.
