The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has charged a Frederick man in connection with a fatal collision that occurred in Germantown in August 2025.
According to MCPD, 27-year-old Dione Jordan was arrested on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, by the department’s Fugitive Unit and charged with manslaughter by vehicle involving gross negligence. The crash occurred on August 20, 2025, near the intersection of Frederick Road and Ridge Road in Germantown.
According to investigators, Jordan was driving a black 2022 Toyota Corolla southbound on Frederick Road when he struck 34-year-old Branden Corey Williams, who was crossing the roadway. Evidence showed Williams was crossing approximately 40 feet south of the nearest marked crosswalk at the time of the collision.
Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit determined that Jordan was traveling at about 70 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone as he approached the intersection. Investigators said the traffic signal changed from green to yellow several seconds before Jordan entered the intersection, and evidence indicates he accelerated in an attempt to pass through before the light turned red.
Williams was struck as he crossed from right to left in the southbound lanes and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the case was presented to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office on December 3, 2025. Jordan later posted 10 percent of a $10,000 bond and was released.
