Pretzel Bakery Has Closed in Cabin John Village After Nearly Four Years

The Pretzel Bakery has closed its Cabin John Village location, bringing an end to a run of just under four years at the shopping center in Potomac.

The shop opened in the space formerly occupied by Hair Cuttery at 7961 Tuckerman Ln., expanding the brand beyond its original Washington, D.C. location at 257 15th Street SE, which first opened in 2012 and appears to remain in business.

Known for its small batch, hand-rolled, Philadelphia-style soft pretzels, The Pretzel Bakery has focused on baking pretzels fresh out of the oven throughout the day. In addition to classic pretzels, the menu included pretzel dogs, pretzel calzones, stuffed pretzel “bombs,” and pretzel sliders.

A sign posted on the door announces the closure and thanks customers for their support:

“To our loyal customers,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of The Pretzel Bakery. As I close the oven for the last time, I want to express my deepest gratitude. Your love and support have made coming to work every day such a rewarding experience, and I will forever cherish the memories. Thank you to everyone who supported us through the years.”

No additional details have been shared about the reason for the closure or what may take over the space.
