A Montgomery County man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month in Pasadena, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Police say the robbery happened around 3:50pm on February 9, 2026, in the 300 block of Caldwell Road. Investigators say a 45-year-old man was renovating his home when he was approached by a male suspect who asked to see the inside of the house. The victim reportedly led the suspect to the basement, where police say the suspect brandished a machete and a handgun and demanded money.
According to authorities, the suspect stole the victim’s phone and bank card, punched the victim, and then fled the scene in a black vehicle. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have said preliminary information indicates the incident was targeted and not a random act of violence. Following continued investigation and leads, Eastern District detectives identified a suspect. On February 12, 2026, detectives located and arrested Nelson Alexander Martinez, a 51-year-old man from Wheaton, in Montgomery County. Police say he was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Anne Arundel County Police. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can contact the department’s tip line.
All charges are allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
