Montgomery County Man Extradited to Connecticut on Child Exploitation Charges

A 31-year-old Montgomery County man has been arrested and extradited to Connecticut following an investigation into alleged online communications with a juvenile, according to the City of Norwich Police Department.

Authorities say Anthony Guevara, 31, of Olney, Maryland, was arrested on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on an extraditable arrest warrant issued by the New London Superior Court in Connecticut. The warrant stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Norwich Police Department Detective Division into alleged sexually explicit online communications between Guevara and a juvenile victim.

Police say Guevara waived extradition to the State of Connecticut. On Thursday, February 12, 2026, members of the Norwich Police Department Detective Division traveled to Maryland and took custody of Guevara at the Montgomery County Detention Center in Rockville. He was transported back to Connecticut without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Guevara has been charged with enticement of a minor by computer, misrepresentation of age to entice a minor, risk of injury to a minor, and harmful communication with a minor. Guevara was processed at the Norwich Police Department and held on a court-set bond of $175,000 cash or surety. He appeared at Norwich Superior Court on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is encouraged to contact the Norwich Police Department Detective Division. The Norwich Police Department noted that the charges are allegations only. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
