The Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division is investigating the shooting death of an 87-year-old man at a senior living facility in Potomac.
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, at approximately 7:34 am, 1st District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded to the Cogir Potomac Senior Living facility in the 10800 block of Potomac Tennis Lane for a reported medical emergency. Responders located Robert Fuller Jr. unresponsive inside an apartment and attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police observed trauma to Fuller’s head, prompting notification of homicide detectives. After processing the scene, investigators confirmed that he had been shot. His death is being investigated as a homicide, and his body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
No suspect information has been released and no arrests have been made at this time. Police say additional information will be provided as the investigation continues.
