Montgomery County Native Christian Marsh Selected to Commentate 2026 Winter Cup

Montgomery County native Christian Marsh has been selected by USA Gymnastics to serve on the commentary team for the 2026 Winter Cup, taking place February 21 and 22 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Marsh was born and raised in Montgomery County and graduated from Clarksburg High School in 2018. He still lives in the area and recently completed another major milestone, graduating from William & Mary Law School this past May. He now works as a law clerk in Annapolis.

Gymnastics has been a central part of Marsh’s life since childhood. He trained at Preston Gymnastics Academy in Gaithersburg from 2005 through 2018, where head coach and gym owner Tim Preston guided him to six consecutive state titles on the rings. During his senior year of high school, Marsh earned the All-Around State Champion title, a capstone moment in an already decorated youth career.

From there, Marsh committed to compete in Division I gymnastics at William & Mary, where he continued to find success at the collegiate level before eventually retiring from competition. His selection as a Winter Cup commentator marks a new chapter, allowing him to stay connected to the sport in a different role.

“Gymnastics has always been a huge part of my life,” Marsh shared. “After retiring from competition, it is great to have another opportunity to share my passion for the sport with a community that has given me so much.”

The Winter Cup is one of the premier events on the U.S. gymnastics calendar, featuring many of the nation’s top athletes and serving as an early season benchmark for elite competition.
