El Salvadoreño Latin Market has reopened after nearly two and a half years, following an arson spree in September 2023 that damaged multiple businesses in Gaithersburg. The market is located at 441 S Frederick Ave. in the Holbrook Center, across from Gaithersburg High School and next to Wawa (photos below).
The market offers a wide selection of groceries, including fresh produce, and serves prepared food featuring Salvadoran cuisine. Menu staples include pupusas, tamales, and other traditional Latin dishes and goods.
Neighboring business Dock of the Bay was also impacted by the arson spree and reopened in December 2023. The arsonist additionally targeted several businesses roughly one mile away at 3 Russell Ave. in Gaithersburg. Taco Bar, Dinora’s Hair Designs, and La Frontera have all since reopened as well.
