Drivers across Montgomery County should expect lane closures beginning in early March as the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration starts a series of pavement improvement projects on several major roadways.
The work will include resurfacing, which involves milling, paving, and restriping, as well as other pavement treatments such as microsurfacing and roadway patching. Weather permitting, the projects are expected to be completed by early to mid-summer.
Drivers can expect off-peak single-lane closures between 7am and 3pm, along with nighttime operations from 7pm to 5am. Work hours may be adjusted depending on traffic conditions at specific locations. Projects may involve flagging operations and single or double lane closures as needed.
