The Olney Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2025 Chamber Award winners, recognizing businesses and individuals for their service, leadership, and contributions to the greater Olney community.
The honorees will be recognized during the Greater Olney Community Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 15, at 2pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. The event is hosted jointly by the Olney Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Olney Civic Association, and the Olney Civic Fund.
This year’s recipients include Da’ Roofers, which received the Rising Star Award. Founded in 2023, the company has built a reputation for honest service and has supported local events including Community Day and National Night Out.
James Creek Lawn & Landscape was named Business of the Year. Established in 2018, the company provides residential and commercial landscaping services and is recognized for its work and community ties in Olney.
Dan Peddicord of Peddicord Plumbing Services received the Business Leader of the Year award. A longtime Olney resident, Peddicord founded the company in 2011 and has also served on the Olney Chamber board.
Two Public Safety Awards were also announced. Fire Chief Brendan Bonita of the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department was recognized for his leadership in overseeing training, readiness, and emergency response operations for volunteer firefighters serving the greater Olney area.
Officer Aleks Goldschmidts of the Montgomery County Police Department was also honored with a Public Safety Award. Goldschmidts has served with MCPD since 2016 and has patrolled the Olney and Brookeville area since 2017. He was recognized for his professionalism, de-escalation skills, and commitment to building trust in the community.
