Progress continues on Honeygrow’s upcoming Silver Spring location, with the project recently receiving a $350,000 permit for interior buildout according to Maryland Newsletters.
The Philadelphia-based fast-casual restaurant chain is preparing to start construction at 10721 Columbia Pike in the Shoppes of Burnt Mills shopping center. The space was previously home to California Tortilla, which closed earlier this year.
Last October, we let you know that property manager Regency Centers listed honeygrow as the incoming tenant for the space, and the newly issued permit indicates work is now moving forward to prepare the restaurant for opening.
Honeygrow first entered Montgomery County in 2018 with a location on Rockville Pike. The brand has built a following for its customizable stir-fry bowls, salads, and signature “honeybars,” dessert bowls made with fruit, honey, and yogurt or granola. The concept emphasizes locally sourced ingredients and a fast-casual dining experience focused on freshness and efficiency.
An official opening date or timeframe for the new location has not yet been announced, but a 2026 opening now seems likely.
