Takoma Park Police say some roads remain impacted following storm damage earlier this week, though conditions are improving in parts of the city.
Jackson Avenue remains closed between Ethan Allen Avenue and Boyd Avenue as crews continue cleanup and repair work on site. Meanwhile, Prince George’s Avenue has reopened to traffic, but officials caution that significant debris remains along the roadside, along with some downed utility wires. Drivers are able to get through the area, but should proceed carefully as additional cleanup is still needed.
Earlier closures included Prince George’s Avenue between Elm Avenue and Ethan Allen Avenue, as well as Ethan Allen Avenue between Elm Avenue and Jackson Avenue, both of which were shut down due to downed trees and wires. Crews have been working throughout the area with traffic control measures in place.
Officials are urging drivers to continue using caution, follow posted signage, and be mindful of ongoing cleanup operations as work continues. Police confirmed that no injuries have been reported in connection with the storm.
