Updated at 2pm
Montgomery County police have released additional details following a fatal single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Rockville.

According to police, 1st District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service personnel were dispatched at approximately 3:09 am on March 22 to the area of Norbeck Road and East Gude Drive for a reported rollover collision. The preliminary investigation indicates a gray 2025 BMW was traveling eastbound on Norbeck Road when, for reasons still under investigation, it crossed the median into the westbound lanes, left the roadway, and landed in a trench.

Responders located three adult male occupants inside the vehicle. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Earlier in the incident, Norbeck Road, East Gude Drive, and Avery Road were closed as crews investigated. All lanes of MD-28 (Norbeck Road) between Avery Road and First Street have since reopened, though officials advised drivers to expect residual delays.

The Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash. The identities of the victims will be released following notification of next of kin.
