Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the intersection of Norbeck Road and East Gude Drive in Rockville.
The collision resulted in the deaths of 24-year-old Abraham D. Huracaya Del Aguila of Silver Spring and 24-year-old Alexander J. Medrano Cangalaya of Rockville. The driver, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to investigators, a gray 2025 BMW M8 was traveling eastbound on Norbeck Road around 3:09 am when it entered a yaw, crossed the center median, and struck a curb and pedestrian signal before overturning. The vehicle continued through the intersection, hitting another curb, a pedestrian signal, and multiple trees before coming to rest in a drainage trench. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and police say the process could take several weeks to months.
