Germantown Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Shooting at Police

A 27-year-old Germantown man, Andre Duvall, is in custody and facing multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, after allegedly shooting at Montgomery County police officers on March 24, 2026.

According to police, officers were patrolling the area of Contour Road in Montgomery Village when they attempted to stop Duvall, who fled on foot into an apartment complex. During the pursuit, Duvall allegedly fired multiple shots at an officer, who returned fire and struck him.

Duvall was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, treated, and later taken into custody. He is also charged with assault and firearms violations and is being held without bond. Police said no officers or bystanders were injured, and a handgun was recovered at the scene. The incident remains under investigation, with body-worn camera footage expected to be released the week of March 30.
