According to Gaithersburg Police, officers
conducted a traffic stop at approximately 7:19 am Friday that led to the discovery of a loaded handgun in plain view inside the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, officers determined the driver was not legally permitted to possess a firearm.
The driver was taken into custody at the scene and charged accordingly. No additional details about the suspect or charges have been released at this time.
