Sweathouz is expanding its footprint in Montgomery County with plans to open a new location in the Kentlands. The contrast therapy studio has signed a lease for 107 Market St W, taking over the space most recently occupied by Poke Bros.
The upcoming Kentlands studio will mark the company’s second Maryland location, following its debut at Pike & Rose a little over a year ago.
Sweathouz specializes in contrast therapy, a wellness practice centered around deliberate exposure to alternating heat and cold. The company’s first Maryland location opened in March 2025 at 11564 Old Georgetown Road in North Bethesda, introducing the concept to the local market.
At its studios, Sweathouz offers private, luxury contrast therapy suites where clients can spend up to 60 minutes cycling between an infrared sauna and a cold plunge. Each suite also includes a Vitamin C shower and built-in entertainment options, allowing guests to listen to music, watch TV, or unplug entirely for a more meditative experience. The company says the experience is designed to support both physical recovery and mental wellness.
An opening timeline for the Kentlands location has not yet been announced.
