Maryland ranked as the 4th best state in the country for working from home in WalletHub’s latest available report, which evaluated states based on how affordable, comfortable, and secure they are for remote workers.
The study compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia across 12 metrics, including internet cost, internet access, cybersecurity, home size, and the share of residents already working remotely.
According to the report, Maryland performed especially well in the share of the population working from home, where it ranked 4th, and internet cost, where it ranked 7th. The state also placed 11th for household internet access. Maryland’s weaker spots included average home square footage, where it ranked 24th, and share of potential telecommuters, where it ranked 20th.
