Motorcyclist Killed in Early Morning Collision

Updated to include summary of events by MCPD

According to Montgomery County Police, 2nd District officers were dispatched at approximately 6:14am on Tuesday to the intersection of Manor Road and Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase for a reported collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, officers located a motorcyclist with serious, life-threatening injuries. In an update, police confirmed the motorcyclist was pronounced dead.

Connecticut Avenue was closed following the crash, and drivers were advised to expect delays and use alternate routes. The investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

MCPD Update: “The following is a brief summary of events regarding a fatal collision that occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, near the intersection of Manor Road and Connecticut Avenue.

At approximately 6:14 a.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, responders located the adult male motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead on scene. The adult female driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatality. A news release will be issued when more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.”
