Maryland-Based Philly Cheesesteak Franchise is Slowly Growing With Third Location

When they first landed in Catonsville, this food trailer took of due to their incredible cheesesteaks and Philly flare. Now, the 5th & Steaks empire is expanding, with their third location based in College Park, MD.

5th & Steaks specializes in Philly cheesesteaks with fresh bread baked daily, classic long hot peppers, and a variety of signature cheesesteak variations.
Mr. 8 That rates every restaurant using two simple categories: price and taste, each scored on a scale of 1-5. Add the two scores together, and if a restaurant reaches a total of 8 or higher, it officially “8 that.”
Mr. 8 That: “The steak rolls were stuffed to the brim with tender ribeye. The cooper sharp dipping sauce would go well on almost anything; rich, creamy, salty, delicious. The Passayunk fries were a quality loaded fry that could be treated as an entrée. Similar to the cooper sharp, the long hot aioli on top of the fries was fantastic. Spicy, slightly vegetal. The chicken cheesesteak hoagie was solid, served the baltimore way with lettuce and tomato. Of the three, it stood out the least, but still a solid chicken alternative. The Pepper Jawn with the spicy whiz was and still continues to be my favorite variation of their cheesesteaks. The hot peppers within the rich thick cheese whiz is a killer bite. Lastly, the Skoo-kil was a monster. A cheesesteak with cream cheese and bacon, on the saltier side, but over the top with flavor due to its strong components. Their bread is one of my favorites in the area as well.”
During his visit, Mr. 8 That tried the steak rolls, the Passayunk fries, chicken cheesesteak hoagie, the Pepper Jawn and the Skoo-kil. On this particular visit, he did not give a rating. However, on his first trip to 5th & Steaks in Catonsville, he gave the flavor a 4.3 and the price a 4.4 leading to a total score of 8.7, meaning 5th & Steaks definitely 8 that! And this visit was a step above last time with all of the new items.
5th & Steaks is currently open daily from 11AM – 8PM at 9035 Baltimore Ave. College Park, MD 20740.
