Montgomery County police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning in the 12000 block of Carrington Hill Drive in Darnestown.
At approximately 5:55 am, 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel were dispatched to the location for the report of a shooting. Officers located an adult male inside a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.
The Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. At this time, no suspect information has been released and no arrests have been made.
