Montgomery County Police have arrested and charged 65-year-old Alfredo Belbusti of Olney in connection with a road rage shooting that occurred on April 7.
Officers responded around 10:02 am to the 3800 block of International Drive, where the victim reported being shot at while driving on Georgia Avenue near the Intercounty Connector.
Investigators say Belbusti pulled alongside the victim’s pickup truck and fired a single shot, striking the rear passenger-side panel. The victim followed the suspect briefly and provided police with a description before losing sight of the vehicle. Detectives later identified Belbusti’s home in Olney, where he was taken into custody, and recovered evidence from the residence and vehicle. He has been charged with first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and related offenses, and is being held without bond.
