Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred around 1:17 am on April 12, 2026, on Georgia Avenue near Randolph Road in Glenmont.
33-year-old Cristhian Francisco Trejo Portillo of Silver Spring was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle left the roadway, struck multiple objects, and overturned.
Preliminary findings indicate the northbound Cadillac Escalade hit a curb, a concrete retaining wall, and a utility pole before coming to rest upside down. The driver was found trapped and unresponsive and was extricated by emergency personnel. The investigation remains ongoing and may take several weeks to months to complete.
