Amigos Mexican Grill announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement with the City of Laurel and will reopen Friday, May 15, following a temporary closure tied to multiple violent incidents during a Cinco de Mayo celebration earlier this month.
“Hello Amigos! We are back! ❤️ We have reached an agreement with the city on reopening and will resume normal operations tomorrow at 11am,” the restaurant shared on social media. “Our team is very excited to get back to work, we appreciate the support from the community and looking forward to seeing our amigos again!”
The reopening announcement was met with significant support online, with many customers expressing excitement about the restaurant’s return. The City of Laurel previously announced the suspension of Amigos Mexican Grill’s Use and Occupancy Permit for the restaurant at 13600 Baltimore Avenue following incidents connected to the May 5 celebration. The closure took effect May 8.
