The Takoma Park Police Department has announced that it has been forced to create a new official Facebook page due to ongoing technical issues that Facebook has been unable to resolve.
According to the department, its previous Facebook handle, @TakomaParkPD, is no longer accessible or usable.
Residents who want to continue receiving updates from the department, including crime information, weather alerts, traffic updates, emergency notifications, community event announcements, and safety tips, are being asked to follow the department’s new official Facebook page at @TakomaParkPoliceDepartment.
The department also noted that the new page is currently on the waitlist for Facebook’s verified badge and that updates will be provided once verification is complete.
