Montgomery Parks’ MudFest returns Saturday, June 13, bringing giant mud pits, mud slides, and messy family fun to Woodstock Equestrian Special Park in Beallsville.
Hosted by Montgomery Parks alongside the Black Hill Discovery Center and Northern Parks Region, the event transforms the park lawn into giant mud pools where attendees can splash, cool off, and jump around. Activities will include a giant mud slide, mud volcano, mud pie pop-up kitchen, mud castle building, music from a DJ, food vendors, and event T-shirts for sale.
The event will take place from 11am to 3pm at 20207 Darnestown Road in Beallsville. Guests are encouraged to wear old clothes, bring plastic buckets, shovels, wheelbarrows, and goggles, and leave anything nice at home. Closed-toed shoes are recommended.
Food vendors The Hotdog Hideout and The Icecream Yard will be on site selling food and treats throughout the day. The event costs $20 per car and will take place rain or shine.
Organizers are also reminding attendees to follow “Mud-iquette,” including keeping wounds covered, taking bathroom breaks outside the mud areas, and keeping pets leashed and out of the mud.
Hose-off stations, changing tents, portable restrooms, and garbage bags for muddy clothing will also be available. More information can be found here.
