One Maryland Pizza Hut Has Been Transformed Into a Retro Throwback Location

One Maryland Pizza Hut location is getting a blast from the past.

The Pizza Hut at 6293 Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill (Prince George’s County) has transitioned into one of the chain’s growing number of “retro” Pizza Hut locations, bringing back many of the classic features longtime customers remember from the brand’s peak dine-in era. For now, it’s the only location in the state to “go retro.”

According to a recent Yum! Brands press release, Pizza Hut is leaning heavily into nostalgia as consumers increasingly seek familiar and comforting experiences. The company says 155 Pizza Hut restaurants across the United States now feature retro-inspired elements including the iconic red cups, red checkered tablecloths, cozy vinyl booths, Tiffany-style lamps, arcade games, and in some cases, the classic red roof restaurant design.

Pizza Hut says the retro locations have become destinations for fans traveling from neighboring towns and even neighboring states to relive memories associated with the chain’s classic dine-in experience.

“For many guests, the experience goes beyond pizza,” Yum! Brands said in the release. “It’s about reconnecting with memories of gathering around the red checkered tablecloth covered table with friends and family.”

The company says the renewed interest reflects a broader nostalgia trend across the restaurant industry. In Collider Lab’s 2026 Food Trends Report, consumers described turning to food for “small, sensory, everyday acts” that provide comfort and emotional grounding.

For younger customers, the retro locations also offer a chance to experience a style of Pizza Hut many only know from old commercials, movies, or stories from parents and grandparents.

Pizza Hut says the retro revival is helping introduce a new generation to the dine-in experience that once made the brand a centerpiece of family traditions across America.
