Nearly six months after Laperaux, The Journeyman’s Bistro closed its doors in Germantown, the restaurant’s equipment, furnishings, artwork, and décor are now being sold through an online auction.
The auction features a wide range of items from the former French bistro, including restaurant equipment, refrigeration units, dining furniture, bar and lounge equipment, patio furniture, artwork, and more from the restaurant’s former home at 18056 Mateny Road in the Cloppers Mill shopping center.
According to the auction listing, bidding is currently underway, with lots scheduled to begin closing on Tuesday, June 23 at 10:07am. Winning bidders will be able to pick up their purchases on Thursday, June 25, between 9am and 3pm.
Laperaux permanently closed in January 2026, ending nearly three years in business. The French bistro opened in February 2023 and quickly became known for its classic French cuisine and neighborhood atmosphere.
At the time of the closure, owner and chef Gregory Webb shared a heartfelt message thanking customers for their support and reflecting on the restaurant as the realization of his lifelong dream of owning a family bistro. Webb also noted that the restaurant played a major role in his family’s life, providing his children with hands-on experience operating a full-service restaurant while growing up alongside the business.
The Germantown location had previously been home to several restaurants over the years, including Gumbo Ya Ya, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, and Café Mileto. A new tenant has not yet been announced.
