The Maple Community Association, in partnership with the City of Takoma Park, will host the 3rd Annual Takoma Park Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20.
The family-friendly event will take place from 12pm to 6pm at Takoma Park Middle School, located at 7611 Piney Branch Road. Organizers say the celebration will include live music, food, guest speakers, local vendors, and activities for all ages, creating a space for both celebration and reflection.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and has become a day focused on community, culture, and remembrance. The Takoma Park event aims to bring residents together for an afternoon of connection and shared experience. The event is free and open to the public.
