Maryland’s sports wagering market generated $9,899,004 in contributions to the state during May 2026, bringing the total returned to Maryland during the first 11 months of Fiscal Year 2026 to $124,695,286.
Sports bettors wagered $535.4 million during May and won back $469.6 million in prizes, while sportsbook operators held 12.3% of the total handle.
Of the nearly $9.9 million generated in May, $7.4 million was directed to public education programs through the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund and $2.45 million went to the state’s General Fund. Since the launch of Maryland’s sports wagering program, more than $271.3 million has been contributed to the Blueprint Fund, with retail sportsbooks opening in December 2021 and mobile sports betting launching in November 2022.
