Police: Former Employee Assaulted Staff, Prompting School Lockdown

A former employee has been charged following an incident that prompted a lockdown at Glen Haven Elementary School in Wheaton on Wednesday, June 17.

According to Montgomery County Police, officers responded to the school at approximately 11:34 a.m. for the report of a former employee who was trespassing inside the building. While officers were en route, they learned the individual had allegedly assaulted school staff members, prompting the school to enter lockdown status.

Responding officers located 27-year-old Nadine Akoko Sefako Dogbo of Gaithersburg outside the school building. Police say Dogbo fled when officers arrived but was taken into custody without further incident following a brief foot pursuit.

Once Dogbo was in custody, the school transitioned from lockdown to secure status while officers stabilized the situation.

Dogbo was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with trespassing, two counts of second-degree assault, and additional charges related to disrupting the educational process, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
