Update: According to Park Police, “Our officers are on scene at Wheaton Regional Park and handling the investigation and collection of the shell casing. At this time there is no confirmed shooting, no witnesses, and no victim has been located.”
Montgomery County Police 4th District officers responded around 3:40 p.m. Thursday to Wheaton Regional Park for a report of two adult men fighting over a gun.
Preliminary information indicates one shot was fired, but no victims were located at the scene and no suspects are in custody. Officers recovered one shell casing, and the investigation remains active. We will provide an update if additional verified information becomes available.
