The Rosner family is inviting the community to Little Bennett Golf Course in Clarksburg on Friday, September 18, 2026, for the fifth annual Justin’s Hole-In-One Golf Tournament, an event created to honor the memory of Justin Alexander Rosner while raising funds for children battling cancer and the music therapy program at Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital.
Hosted through the family’s nonprofit, JUSTiN’S LOVE, the tournament has become a meaningful tradition that combines golf, community, remembrance, and philanthropy.“The purpose of this event is to honor the memory of our son, Justin Alexander Rosner, raise money for the music therapy program at Inova Children’s Hospital, and have fun playing golf at our home course, Little Bennett,” the family shared.
The impact of the event continues to grow. Following last year’s tournament, Inova Children’s announced that JUSTiN’S LOVE donated $25,000 to support its music therapy program. The hospital thanked the Rosner family for helping bring “music, joy and comfort” to children undergoing treatment and their families.
Justin was diagnosed with Stage 3 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma on November 1, 2017, when he was just 15 months old. Doctors discovered a 12-centimeter tumor behind his bladder, and he immediately began an intensive 43-week treatment plan at Inova Children’s Hospital that included multiple rounds of chemotherapy and 28 sessions of proton radiation therapy in Baltimore.
According to his family, Justin faced treatment with extraordinary courage and resilience. “He handled treatment like a true warrior and had an overall great response,” the Rosners said. After completing treatment, the family received devastating news when Justin relapsed in September 2018.
Despite the pain he endured, Justin remained a source of inspiration to everyone around him. “Through the tears, JUSTiN always found a way to smile,” his family said. “His will to live was extraordinary. He was referred to as ‘superhuman’ by the medical team, as no one had witnessed a child his size on such high levels of pain medication.”
Justin passed away on February 5, 2019, at just 2½ years old. His family chose to donate his tumor for research in hopes of helping future children and families facing pediatric cancer. “To know Justin was to love him,” the family said. “He found joy in all things. He knew how to live and love. He connected deeply with music. He adored his big sister Kacey. And he never, ever let cancer steal his spirit.”
Today, Justin’s legacy continues through JUSTiN’S LOVE, which helps fund music therapy services for pediatric oncology patients at Inova while also supporting families navigating childhood cancer diagnoses.
Music therapy played a meaningful role during Justin’s treatment journey, inspiring the family to ensure other children have access to the same type of support.
The tournament has grown steadily over the years thanks to strong community support. Last year’s event helped continue funding for the music therapy program, and organizers hope this year’s tournament will further strengthen those efforts while expanding assistance for pediatric cancer families.
In addition to golf, the event will feature sponsorship opportunities, fundraising activities, raffle prizes, and community support for a cause that continues to touch families throughout Montgomery County and beyond.
For the Rosner family, the tournament is about much more than a round of golf. It is an opportunity to celebrate a little boy whose impact continues to be felt years after his passing and to turn heartbreak into hope for other families facing the unimaginable. “Justin was and will always be our BRAVE LITTLE SOUL.”
