Update at 2:25pm: Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision after an adult female pedestrian was struck Friday afternoon in the 10500 block of Colesville Road near Burnt Mills.
Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to the scene around 1:14 p.m. for a reported pedestrian struck. The victim was initially transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Authorities have since confirmed that the woman has died from her injuries. The incident is now being investigated as a fatal hit-and-run collision.
The driver involved reportedly fled the scene, and no suspect information has been released at this time.
