Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred Monday evening in a parking garage in the 11300 block of Woodglen Drive in Rockville.
According to police, 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene at approximately 5:31pm for a reported crash.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Toyota RAV4 struck a cable barricade within the parking garage entrance area for reasons that remain under investigation.
The adult female driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult male passenger was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash. Authorities said additional information, including the identity of the deceased driver, will be released after next of kin have been notified.
