Update: Gaithersburg Woman Found Dead in Apartment, Police Investigating Homicide

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division are investigating the homicide of a 37-year-old Gaithersburg woman who was found dead Sunday morning.

At approximately 8:16 a.m. on June 21, Montgomery County police officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded to the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road for a reported working code. When first responders arrived, they found Ashlei Le Shae Jones inside her apartment suffering from cutting injuries to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Major Crimes detectives responded and launched a homicide investigation. Jones was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy determined her manner of death was homicide.

No suspect has been identified or taken into custody.
