Updated Montgomery County Primary Election Results Released Friday

Unofficial Montgomery County primary election results were refreshed Friday, June 26 at 11:50am, with all 257 election day precincts reporting. Provisional ballots remain listed as not reported.

In the Democratic primary for Montgomery County Executive, Will Jawando leads with 40,615 votes, or 40.11%, followed by Andrew Friedson with 34,593 votes, or 34.16%. Evan Glass has 22,060 votes, while Mithun Banerjee and Peter James trail with 2,358 and 1,643 votes, respectively. On the Republican side, Esther Wells leads Shelly Skolnick with 5,696 votes, or 60.45%.

In the Democratic County Council At-Large race, the top four vote-getters are Marc Elrich with 51,339 votes, Laurie-Anne Sayles with 43,446, Scott Evan Goldberg with 41,966, and Karla Silvestre with 36,101. Fatmata Barrie is close behind with 35,907 votes.

In County Council district races, Julie Yang leads District 1 with 49.28%, Jud Ashman leads a close District 3 race with 46.53%, Kate Stewart leads District 4 with 82.27%, Kristin Mink leads District 5 with 83.15%, Natali Fani-González leads District 6 with 63.76%, and Dawn Luedtke leads District 7 with 66.09%. Marilyn Balcombe is unopposed in the District 2 Democratic primary.

For Board of Education At-Large, Omar Lazo leads with 34,422 votes, or 33.61%, followed by Brenda M. Diaz with 31,198 votes, Wylea Chase with 19,029, and Tiffany E. Wicks with 17,758. In the District 3 Board of Education race, Sally A. McCarthy leads with 46,527 votes, or 46.55%.

In statewide races within Montgomery County, Wes Moore and Aruna Miller lead the Democratic gubernatorial primary with 92,950 votes, or 91.70%. Dan Cox and Rob Krop lead the Republican gubernatorial primary in the county with 4,692 votes, or 45.58%.
